19 Dec This is Allison
She is funny and sharp-tongued and caring and completely without a filter and damn, is she sexy. She has survived bad marriages and risen to the challenge of her children’s intense special needs and two years ago she made this decision:
“I’m going have a year filled with awesome experiences, people and just plain fun. I am no longer going to settle for bullshit and stupid and men who don’t think I’m amazing.”
Since then she has ruthlessly redefined herself as a woman who is stylish, confident, and comfortable in her own skin. She is a proud member of the Curvy Girl community. She has found- or been found by- a genuinely good, loving man she refers to as her cowboy, and for his birthday today she blew his socks off with a gorgeous album full of unbelievably sexy photos.
Here’s what Allison has to say about her boudoir photography experience:
How do you feel about your body?
It’s taken me a long time to fully accept my body. I grew up hating how I looked and never viewing myself as “pretty enough”. As I have gotten older I’ve come to appreciate ever curve.
What was it like being in front of the camera?
It was extremely empowering. I felt completely at ease with Star. I wanted to just let go and enjoy the experience and I did. It was easily the most free I have ever felt in front of a camera.
Before your session, did you have any worries or fears? What were they?
I was terrified of my perceived flaws. I had problem areas in my mind that I was worried I would focus on and then not be able to enjoy my session.
How did you feel coming out of your session?
I felt mighty. I came home and smiled for the rest of the evening.
What was one of the highlights of your session?
The moment I realized that everything was going to be okay. I was in full make up and walked into the studio for the first time and just exhaled.
What would you tell another woman considering coming to Acts of Beauty for boudoir photography?
Please do it. Don’t wait until you ‘lose 10 pounds’ or you find the perfect outfit. Just do it.
Would you do it again?
Yes, without reservation I will do it again.
Allison also has a funny, raw and inspiring blog in the Curvy Girl tradition where she’s talked more about her life and how much fun it was to take her clothes off for me. Go check it out!
